Stop spam and scammers on Discord
- Turn on anti-spam. Set a message rate limit and an automatic action (timeout or kick) so accounts that flood chat are stopped instantly.
- Block links and invites. Block external links and Discord invites (including hidden ones) except from an allow-list of domains you trust.
- Add a blocked-word filter. Enable the bypass-proof blocked-word filter and add common scam/phishing phrases; a shared default list gives you a head start.
- Enable AI moderation. Turn on AI content moderation to catch scams and toxicity that keyword lists miss, in context.
- Guard against copy-paste spam. Enable the copy-paste guard so the same message pasted across many channels is detected and actioned automatically.
Why keyword filters aren’t enough
Scammers rephrase, obfuscate and spread messages across channels. A fixed blocked-word list catches the obvious cases, but you also want rate limits, link/invite blocking, a copy-paste guard and AI moderation working together so evasive spam still gets caught.
Layer your defences
The most effective setups don’t rely on one filter — they stack several so a message that slips past one is caught by another.
