Protect a Discord server from raids and nukes
- Verify new members. Turn on captcha verification and a minimum account-age gate so bots and brand-new raid accounts never reach your channels.
- Enable raid protection. Set a join-rate limit so a spike in joins auto-timeouts the wave or raises the server to lockdown until it passes.
- Set anti-nuke thresholds. Limit how many channels/roles a single account can delete and how many members it can ban in a short window, and choose to strip permissions or ban on breach.
- Whitelist trusted admins. Add your real admins and trusted bots to the anti-nuke whitelist so legitimate bulk actions aren’t blocked.
- Take a snapshot. Capture a snapshot of your channels and roles so, if anything is destroyed, you can restore your structure and reverse mass bans from the deletion log.
Raids vs nukes: know the difference
A raid floods your server with accounts (often bots) to spam or overwhelm it. A nuke is destruction from the inside — a compromised admin or malicious staffer mass-deleting channels and roles or mass-banning members. They need different defences, and a good setup covers both.
