Moderation Commands

Warn, mute, kick, ban and jail members, purge messages, lock channels and read the numbered case record. Every action runs through one executor, so it is cased, logged, DM’d and undoable whichever surface issues it.

Slash /mod — member actions

The 21 formerly flat moderation commands are grouped under /mod, /voice and /channel. Each action keeps its own permission, so grouping changed nothing about who can run what.

/mod warn <user> <reason> [duration] [silent] [note] Warn a member. Counts toward automatic escalation; a duration makes it a temporary warning. Warn
/mod warnings <user> List a member’s warnings and where they stand on the escalation ladder. Warnings
/mod kick <user> <reason> Remove a member from the server. Kick
/mod ban <user> <reason> [delete_message_history] Ban a user, optionally deleting their recent message history. Ban
/mod unban <user_id> <reason> Lift a ban so the user can rejoin. Unban
/mod tempban <user> <duration> <reason> Ban a user and unban them automatically when it expires. Tempban
/mod purge <amount> [user] [filter] [contains] Bulk delete up to 500 messages, optionally filtered by author, content or attachments. Purge
/mod nick <user> [nickname] [reason] Change a member’s nickname — leave it empty to reset to their username. Nickname
/mod timeout add <user> <duration> <reason> Time a member out, e.g. 45m, 12h, 7d (Discord’s maximum is 28d). Timeout
/mod timeout remove <user> [reason] End a timeout early. Timeout
/mod temprole add <user> <role> <duration> [reason] Add a role that is removed automatically on expiry. Temprole
/mod temprole remove <user> <role> <duration> [reason] Remove a role and restore it automatically on expiry. Temprole

Slash /punish — beyond Discord’s own verbs

Each is its own permission on purpose: "may kick" and "may permanently blacklist" are different levels of trust, and reviewing an appeal is routinely delegated to staff who may not issue the punishment.

/punish softban <user> <reason> Ban then immediately unban — removes the member and purges their recent messages. Soft Ban
/punish tempkick <user> <duration> <reason> Kick, then remove them again on every rejoin until the duration expires. Temporary Kick
/punish jail <user> <reason> [duration] Strip every manageable role and assign the jail role. Roles are stored and restored on release. Jail / Quarantine
/punish unjail <user> Release from jail and restore the roles they held before. Unjail / Release
/punish quarantine <user> <reason> Add the quarantine role, leaving their own roles alone. Jail / Quarantine
/punish unquarantine <user> Remove the quarantine role. Unjail / Release
/punish blacklist <user> <reason> Bar a user — they are kicked or banned again every time they join. Blacklist User
/punish unblacklist <user> Lift a blacklist, including the ban a ban-mode blacklist left behind. Remove Blacklist
/punish lock <user> <reason> Stop one member talking anywhere, using per-user channel overwrites. Their roles are untouched. Lock User
/punish unlock <user> Lift a user lock, removing exactly the overwrites it added. Unlock User

/voice mute <user> [reason] Server-mute a member in voice channels. Voice Mute
/voice unmute <user> [reason] Remove a member’s server voice mute. Voice Unmute
/voice deafen <user> [reason] Server-deafen a member in voice channels. Voice Deafen
/voice undeafen <user> [reason] Remove a member’s server voice deafen. Voice Undeafen
/voice move <user> <channel> [reason] Move a member into another voice channel. Voice Move
/voice disconnect <user> [reason] Disconnect a member from their voice channel. Voice Disconnect

Slash /channel — channel state

Command What it does Permission
/channel lock [channel] [reason] Prevent @everyone sending messages in a channel. Lock
/channel unlock [channel] [reason] Restore @everyone sending permissions in a locked channel. Unlock
/channel slowmode <seconds> [channel] Set the slowmode delay, 0 to disable (max 21600 = 6 hours). Slowmode
/channel lockdown lock [reason] [category] Lock every text channel, or just one category. Does not touch the server verification level. Lockdown
/channel lockdown unlock [reason] [category] Unlock the channels a previous lockdown locked. Lockdown

Slash /case — the moderation record

Reading history is split from changing a case: undoing a punishment and rewriting a stated reason are both audit-sensitive and separately gated.

/case view <number> Show one case in full — reason, evidence, DM, appeal link and expiry. View Cases
/case history <user> A member’s complete moderation record. View Cases
/case list [user] [active] The server’s most recent cases, optionally only punishments still in force. View Cases
/case note <number> <note> Add an internal note. Staff only — the member never sees it. Add Case Note
/case reason <number> <reason> Correct a stated reason. The correction is itself recorded as a note. Edit Case Reason
/case undo <number> [reason] Reverse a punishment. The reversal gets its own case. Undo Case
/case escalation <user> Preview the punishment escalation will apply to this member next. Escalation Preview

Slash /massmod — bulk actions

/massmod stays a top-level command rather than folding into /mod: a grouped command shares one 4,000-character budget with Discord, and merging it would leave /mod one description away from breaking the whole deploy.

/massmod ban <reason> [delete_messages] Ban up to 10 members chosen from a user picker. Mass Mod
/massmod kick <reason> [role] Kick picked members, or everyone holding a given role. Mass Mod
/massmod timeout <duration> <reason> [role] Time out picked members, or everyone holding a given role. Mass Mod
/massmod role <action> <role> [reason] Add or remove a role for up to 10 members via a user picker. Mass Mod

Menu Right-click a member

User context-menu commands. They share their slash twin’s permission, so a denied capability cannot be reached by right-clicking instead.

Quick Timeout (1h) Time the member out for one hour. Timeout

Text Text commands

Shown with the default ! prefix — use your server’s prefix or @mention the bot. Every punishing text command runs through the same executor as its slash twin, so it produces the same case, DM, log and escalation. Flags: --silent, --dm <text>, --note <text>, --for <duration>, --category <name>, --days <n>.

!unban <id> <reason> Lift a ban so the user can rejoin. Unban
!timeout <@user> <duration> <reason> Time a member out, e.g. 10m, 1h30m, 7d (max 28d). Timeout
!untimeout <@user> [reason] Remove a timeout from a member. Timeout
!mute <@user> [reason] Server-mute a member in voice. This is the VOICE mute — use !timeout to time somebody out. Voice Mute
!unmute <@user> [reason] Remove a member’s voice server-mute. Voice Unmute
!deafen <@user> [reason] Server-deafen a member in voice channels. Voice Deafen
!undeafen <@user> [reason] Remove a member’s voice server-deafen. Voice Undeafen

Notes that apply everywhere

Text commands

Every text command is shown with the default ! prefix. Your server can change it (!prefix <new>, or the dashboard), and @mentioning the bot always works as a prefix whatever you set — so @Azra help is a reliable way back in if you forget it.

Permissions

Azra does not read Discord's own permissions to decide who may run what — it has its own Permission Manager, and the server owner and Discord Administrators always hold everything. A capability is an action, not a command path: denying Ban blocks /mod ban, !ban and the right-click Quick Ban together, so a restriction cannot be dodged by switching surface.

If a command does not appear in Discord
